Getting Started:
Ocean Ride was founded with the idea to bring the high quality, high energy cycling studio experience to Long Beach and its surrounding communities. By using our online reservation system, you no longer need to worry about getting to a class and not getting a bike. You can book as much as one week in advance. We are dedicated to offering you an unbelievable cardio workout that will keep you motivated and coming back for more.

How do I reserve a bike at Ocean Ride Cycling Studio?
The schedule posts Sundays at 6PM for the upcoming week. You can reserve a bike up to 1 week in advance. Click the reserve tab. Sign up if you don’t already have an account. Choose the class you want to take. Pick your bike and you are set!

What is the cancellation policy at Ocean Ride Cycling Studio?
Anytime up until 6PM the night before the class, you can cancel your reservation on-line without losing the class or being charged a fee. If you know you can not attend a class you signed up for, please cancel as early as possible.

What if I am on the waitlist for a class?
Anytime up until 12 hours before class, if a bike opens up, we will automatically add you to the class from the waitlist. You will receive an email confirming your bike. Please continue to check your email. If it is after 12 hours before class, we will call you to see if you would like to be added to the class. If you do not remove yourself from the waitlist and you get added to the class and do not cancel or come to the class, it will be counted as a missed class and you will be charged a no show fee. If you have not been added to a class from the waitlist and want to ride, you are more than welcome to come to the studio and if there is an open bike, its yours!

Will indoor cycling help me lose weight?
Yes, indoor cycling is a great way to lose weight and lower your body fat if done regularly and in combination with a healthy diet. Riders working hard can burn almost 1000 calories in a 50-55 minute class. You can bring a heart rate monitor which will sync to the electronics on the bike to give you an even more accurate calorie count.

Studio, equipment, pedals, what to bring?
Dress in cool clothing, the classes get warm. Many people wear cycling shorts but they are not necessary. Bring your own water. We will provide towels. You will be riding on Schwinn AC Sport bikes with electronics to track your RPM, heart rate and calories burned. All bikes are equipped for SPD cycling shoes and sneakers. Bikes 1, 9, 10,11,12 and 18 are suited for LOOK Delta cleats as well as SPD and sneakers. This is noted when you reserve your bike. The studio has lockers and a changing area.

What types of classes are offered at Ocean Ride Cycling Studio?
Ocean Express (45 minutes), Ocean Ride (50 minutes), Ocean Power (60 minutes) are interval classes - high intensity followed by recovery.  These classes include resistance, speed, endurance, and strength.  Ocean Strength is a 50 minute class that challenges legs, core, and upper body with heavy hills, fast flats, and the use of body bars for upper body strength. Ocean Wave is a 45 minute rhythm based beat driven ride using body bars for upper body strength. The experience in each class will vary depending on the instructors style and we encourage our instructors to bring their own unique style to each class.
